Q: How old do you have to be to work at L&L Food Centers?
A: Federal and state law regulate the employment of minors. These laws specifically regulate the hours that individuals under the age of 18 may work, the occupations in which they may be employed and the hazardous equipment and/or materials from which they are restricted. Due to the addition restrictions on 14-15 year old minors and the positions and shifts available, L&L Food Centers will usually only hire 16-17 year old minors.

Q: What position can a minor apply for?
A: Most minors are considered for Service Clerk (“bagger”) positions. If you are 17, you could be considered for several other positions when available, i.e. Dairy Clerk, Frozen Food Clerk, Day Grocery Clerk, Produce Clerk, or General Merchandise Clerk.

Q: How do I apply?
A: Go to the store where you want to work and request a job application. You can also complete our on-line application and take it to the location(s) of your choice. Our other stores may also be aware of your application, so if you are called for an interview, please make sure you know the location where you are to go for the interview.

Q: If I am interested in a position in one of your stores, where do I send my resume?
A: We do not process resumes for non-management store positions. You must complete our standard application either on-line or at the store of your choice. Incomplete applications will not be considered. You may attach your resume to your in-store application for additional details. Otherwise, forward your resume to our corporate office if you are applying for a management position or a non-store hourly position.

Q: Will I be called after submitting an application?
A: Only applicants who are chosen for interviews are called. Our Store Directors wish they could call every applicant and thank him or her for considering L&L Food Centers during their job search. However, the number of applications we receive makes that impossible.

Q: How long is my application active?
A: Your application becomes inactive after 45 days. If you don’t hear anything within that time period and are still interested, we encourage you to return to the store to update or complete a new application, which will then remain active for another 45 days.

Q: Can I apply at more than one location?
A: Yes, you may apply at any locations where you feel comfortable working, within your travel area.
