Cashier
Cashiers provide a high level of customer service and practices safe food handling procedures.All cashiers are trained to perform checkout procedures including the proper handling of customer’s groceries and operation of an electronically scanning cash register to total customers’ final bills.The cashier will receive payment for the customer’s purchases and count back correct change.They will bag the customer’s groceries. Additionally, cashiers may perform other duties as directed.
Service Clerks
Service Clerks provide a high level of customer service and practices safe food handling procedures.All service clerk work in the Front End department.They bag customer’s orders, assist the customers to their cars, assist customers in locating product locations, retrieve shopping carts, return merchandise to store shelves, sweep and mop floors, empties and disposes of trash, cleans spills and damaged products, and provides other routine store maintenance.
Deli
Deli associates provide a high level of customer service and practices safe food handling procedures.All deli associates may prepare food, greet and assist customers, offer samples, and recommend products to customers.They properly weigh, bag and price deli merchandise for sale to customers.They operate scales, slicers, wrapping and cooking equipment.Deli associates must maintain a clean and sanitized work area including the maintenance of tables, walls, floors, display cases, walk-in coolers/freezers, fryers and other cooking equipment.Deli associates will assist with inventories,ordering/transmitting product and/or supply orders.
Bakery
Bakery associates can be a Bakery Clerk, Baker, Donut Fryer, or Cake Decorator.Each provides a high level of customer service and practices safe food handling procedures.Bakers perform the production functions of the department by making the product put out for sale to our customers by mixing, scaling and proofing donuts, breads, cakes, sweet rolls, pastries and other baked goods.Bakers use professional equipment and ovens to make these products.Donut Fryers and Cake Decorators primarily perform the duties described by their job title as well as those of a Bakery Clerk.The Bakery Clerk will package and properly price product and place on display for sale to our customers.All bakery associates help to clean and maintain the bakery department.
Dairy/Frozen
Dairy/Frozen associates provide a high level of customer service and practices safe food handling procedures.These associates are responsible for stocking shelves, sorting and rotating merchandise.They store milk, eggs, and frozen goods in coolers and freezers. They monitor temperatures within coolers and freezers on a regular basis.They monitor expiration dates and remove expired items. Additionally they maintain the cleanliness of the dairy and frozen sections. Each associate is expected to greet and assist customers in their work area.
Meat
Meat/Seafood associates can be a Meat/Seafood Clerk, Meat Wrapper, Apprentice Meat Cutter or Meat Cutter.Each provides a high level of customer service and practices safe food handling procedures. Meat Cutters and Apprentices cut, trim, process high quality cuts of meat and/or product for sale to our customers.All associates display and maintain in-stock conditions and fresh and appealing appearance throughout the department.They process fresh and frozen meats.Each associates packages, prepares trays, weighs items, properly labels each, rotates product and removes out of code date products.Each associate cleans and sanitizes the work area in accordance with company standards and health department regulations.Each associate will greet and assist customers in their work area.
Produce
Produce associates provide a high level of customer service and practices safe food handling procedures.Each associate receives produce deliveries, builds and maintains displays and rotates stock as needed.They inspect displays for damage or out-of–date items and remove such products.They prepare product for placement on sales floor by trimming, washing, banding and/or wrapping.Each associate maintains a clean department including floors, tables, scales, mirrors, and both wet and dry racks.Each associate will greet and assist customers in their work area.
Grocery
Grocery Clerks can be either a Day Stock Clerk or a Night Stock Clerk.They receive grocery deliveries, price product, rotate product, stock & face shelves, organize and work areas of back stock, and maintain the backroom in a clean and orderly manner. They may be required to clean, sweep, mop, use a pallet jack or other pieces of equipment; operate the baler, compactor & other equipment.Each associate will greet and assist customers in their work area.
Floral
Floral clerks rotate product for freshness, trim and water the fresh flowers and floral arrangements.They order & price product, maintain the product in the refrigerated display cases; design basic floral arrangements, and clean the work areas.Each associate will greet and assist customers.
GM/HBC
GM/HBC clerks will order merchandise, unload deliveries, stock & rotate product in assigned areas & displays.They will also organize back-stock area; clean, sweep, mop, use a pallet jack or other pieces of equipment; operates baler, compactor & other machines.Each associate will greet and assist customers.
Pharmacy Technician
Our pharmacy techs provide superior customer service under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.They receive refill request for prescriptions from patients and medical practitioners, answer customers’ non-medical questions, can prepackage prescription medications, operate the cash terminal, handle cash & other forms of payments.They can also retrieve, count, or pour prescription medications when verified by the pharmacist.They will clean & maintain the department.
Pharmacist
Our pharmacist must be certified to practice in the State of Michigan. Our pharmacies are located within our retail supermarkets.Studies show that supermarket pharmacists are considered to be among the happiest of retail pharmacists.They enjoy a full professional career while practicing in a community setting that allows maximum patient contact.They also use a state-of-the-art computer system and work in pharmacies that do not have drive-thru windows.
